# Outbound & Network

> Turn warm relationships, referrals and targeted outbound into a disciplined conversation pipeline.

Your first clients are often closer than you think. Start with access before buying large lead lists.

## Map the warm network

Create categories for:

* former colleagues;
* former clients;
* university and professional networks;
* investors and advisers;
* suppliers and implementation partners;
* founders you know;
* second-degree introductions.

For each person, record the organisations or buyers they may know and the problem you are relevant to.

## Ask for introductions specifically

Weak:

> Do you know anyone who needs AI help?

Better:

> I’m working with operations-heavy professional-services firms on reducing manual work in high-friction workflows. Are there one or two operations or technology leaders in your network who are dealing with that kind of problem?

Specificity makes the introducer’s job easier.

## Problem-first outbound

Do not lead with a product pitch.

A simple structure:

1. **Trigger:** why this company or person now?
2. **Problem hypothesis:** what operational issue may exist?
3. **Relevant proof:** one reason you are credible.
4. **Low-friction CTA:** a short conversation, not a demo request.

Example:

> Noticed your team has been expanding its client operations function. In firms at that stage, proposal, onboarding and reporting workflows often accumulate a lot of manual handoffs. We run short diagnostics to identify where automation or AI is actually worth implementing. Worth comparing notes for 20 minutes?

## Follow-up cadence

A useful cadence might include 4–6 touches across two to three weeks using email and LinkedIn. Add new information or a relevant observation; do not simply send “bumping this.”

## Track the funnel

Measure:

* target accounts;
* contacts reached;
* replies;
* conversations;
* qualified opportunities;
* proposals;
* wins.

If reply rates are weak, inspect targeting and message. If meetings do not convert, inspect discovery and qualification.

<Warning>
  Respect applicable marketing and privacy rules for your geography and audience. High-volume unsolicited outreach is not a substitute for relevance.
