# Growing the Consultancy

> Move from founder-dependent project work toward a repeatable professional-services business with recurring revenue and controlled delivery capacity.

Growth is not simply adding more clients. A consultancy becomes more durable when it has repeatable acquisition, delivery, expansion and economics.

## Five stages

### Stage 1 — Starting

Inconsistent pipeline. Priority: positioning and first paid engagements.

### Stage 2 — Selling

Conversations are happening but conversion is inconsistent. Priority: qualification, proof, offer and pricing.

### Stage 3 — Delivering

Several engagements are active. Priority: scope control, quality and delivery standardisation.

### Stage 4 — Productising

The same types of problems and outputs repeat. Priority: reusable method, templates, pricing and specialist network.

### Stage 5 — Scaling

Team and recurring revenue exist. Priority: capacity planning, management, margin and account expansion.

## Core growth metrics

Track:

* qualified opportunities;
* proposal win rate;
* average engagement value;
* sales cycle;
* gross margin;
* delivery capacity;
* repeat revenue;
* referral rate;
* client concentration;
* cash collection.

## Build reusable IP

Standardise what should repeat:

* ICP;
* offer;
* discovery process;
* diagnostic method;
* templates;
* deliverable structure;
* implementation transition;
* case-study process.

Iris can support repeatability in the diagnostic layer while still allowing the consultant to adapt to each client.
