# Positioning & Service Offer

> Choose who you serve, which business problem you solve and what you sell before you try to scale demand generation.

Strong positioning makes every later sales activity easier. It tells a buyer **why you are relevant to them**, not merely what technology you know.

A weak positioning statement sounds like:

> We help businesses use AI.

It is broad, difficult to remember and gives the buyer no reason to believe you understand their situation.

A stronger version is:

> We help 50–500 person professional-services firms identify and implement AI opportunities in high-friction operational workflows.

The exact wording will evolve. What matters is that you can answer four questions clearly:

1. **Who is this for?**
2. **What painful problem are we addressing?**
3. **What outcome matters?**
4. **Why should the client believe our method is credible?**

## The positioning stack

Use five layers:

**Market:** the broad category you operate in.

**ICP:** the organisations most likely to buy and benefit.

**Buyer:** the person who feels or owns the problem.

**Problem:** the expensive, frustrating or risky condition you help diagnose or change.

**Method:** the distinctive way you create confidence and results.

For Prescient-enabled consulting, the method can be evidence-led diagnosis rather than generic AI ideation.

## Avoid positioning around tools

Technologies change quickly. A buyer is more likely to care about delayed proposals, expensive manual processing, poor collections or excessive rework than whether you use a particular LLM framework.

## What good positioning enables

It improves:

* who you target;
* what content you publish;
* how you open outreach;
* which case studies matter;
* how you qualify prospects;
* how you package the diagnostic;
* how you defend pricing.
