# How Iris Works

> Understand the evidence-to-recommendation workflow that Iris supports across a consulting diagnostic.

Iris supports a consulting workflow that moves from evidence to process understanding and then to prioritised recommendations.

## 1. Define the engagement

The consultant starts with a client, project context and business question. The quality of the output depends heavily on good scope.

## 2. Capture evidence

Depending on the engagement, evidence may include:

* AI-led stakeholder interviews;
* consent-based screen observation;
* structured operational records;
* supporting process or policy information.

## 3. Build current-state understanding

Iris helps structure how work happens across activities, handoffs, branches, loops, variants and friction points.

## 4. Inspect and validate

The consultant reviews the evidence, identifies contradictions or gaps and validates material findings with the client.

## 5. Develop opportunities

The evidence can support opportunities involving process redesign, automation, integration or AI. These are not final recommendations until reviewed by the consultant.

## 6. Build the commercial case

Use validated baseline evidence and assumptions to estimate expected value, implementation priorities and the roadmap.

## The important boundary

Iris supports the evidence and analysis layer. It does not independently own the client decision, recommendation, implementation or realised-benefits measurement.
