# ROI & Business Case in Iris

> Use Iris evidence to support business-case assumptions while keeping expected value distinct from realised benefits.

Iris can help provide evidence for the assumptions that sit behind a business case. The consultant still needs to validate those assumptions with the client.

## Evidence that may support ROI

Depending on the engagement, Iris evidence may help establish:

* workflow frequency;
* manual effort;
* rework points;
* delays;
* affected roles;
* volume or variants;
* operational consequences.

## Build the model outside the claim

The commercial model should explicitly state:

* current baseline;
* proposed change;
* expected adoption;
* expected benefit;
* implementation and ongoing cost;
* scenario range;
* confidence level.

## Expected versus realised value

A diagnostic can estimate expected value. It does not independently prove post-implementation benefit.

After implementation, measure the actual KPI against the baseline and account for adoption and other changes in the business.
