# Structured Data in Iris

> Use operational data when it materially improves confidence in process behaviour, volumes, variants or timing.

Structured data answers different questions from interviews.

Interviews often explain **why and how** work happens. Operational records can show **what happened, how often and when**.

## Useful questions for structured data

* How many cases follow each variant?
* Where is cycle time accumulating?
* How often does rework occur?
* Which statuses or handoffs correlate with delay?
* Which paths are rare exceptions versus normal behaviour?
* What is the volume of the problem being discussed?

## Common source systems

Potential sources include:

* CRM;
* ERP;
* ticketing;
* workflow platforms;
* transactional systems;
* operational exports.

## Do not force structured data into every engagement

Interviews alone may be sufficient for a smaller or early-stage diagnostic. Structured data is most useful where behaviour is recorded reliably and quantification materially affects the decision.

## Current delivery reality

Operational-data extraction and cleaning may still require consultant/client support. Treat data quality as part of delivery planning rather than assuming every export is analysis-ready.

  Supported file formats, connectors, record limits and upload workflow are **\[PRODUCT DETAIL TO CONFIRM]**.
